Meet The Team
Meet the PSW Team at Lanarkshire Links and get to know the people who use their lived experience to provide compassionate, peer-led support.
Alan Neilson
Peer Support Worker
My name is Alan and I have had my own experience of mental illness and of being admitted to an acute psychiatric ward.
I now work in an acute psychiatric ward and use my experience in this and my recovery to give hope to our patients that their own recovery goals can be achieved.
I hope to help the patients find ways along this path and make their time on ward as easy on them as we can.
Stephanie McKnight
Peer Support Worker
I support individuals on acute mental health wards using a variety of techniques and activities. This is done whilst sharing my own experience of mental health to create a sense of hope and recovery for those on the wards by showing them that I understand what they are going through but also that I have been in a similar place.
Alan Mitchell
Peer Support Worker
As a peer support worker in Mental Health, I draw on my own lived experience of health challenges and recovery to support others. I offer understanding, support, and hope by building positive relationships with people who may be experiencing difficult times. Working alongside individuals, I help them explore their strengths and build confidence. One of my aims is to empower people that recovery may be possible.
